Inserts in a composite

In context of the RAAK project we examined two type of inserts: with and without a flange.
The insert with a flange was calculated to withstand a load of 17kN and the insert without a flange was designed to fail at a load of 7kN.

We had carbon-fiber-composite plates and inserts produced and tested them in a specially designed tensile testing machine. In the following videos this testing is recorded:
